The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Game of the day: Celtics at Lakers

Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Lakers (-6.5, 187.5)

The NBA Finals tips Tuesday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles Lakers host the Boston Celtics meet in a Game 6 elimination scenario for the home side. Let’s take a look at tonight’s matchup:

Help wanted

Despite finishing with a game-high 38 points, including 23 in a row at one point in the contest, Kobe Bryant’s brilliant effort was not enough Sunday with Boston winning 92-86 to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Not enough when only one other Laker reached double figures. That was Pau Gasol with 12 points.

Ron Artest, the big-ticket free agent bust signed last summer, had seven points and missed two critical free throws with 43.3 seconds remaining that could have brought the Lakers to within three points. Moments later Artest let Rajon Rondo go unguarded on an inbounds pass for a back-breaking layup in the final seconds.

Lamar Odom had eight points, Derek Fisher nine and Andrew Bynum six.

As great as Bryant is, he can't single-handedly carry the Lakers to a championship.

It was all Kobe Sunday night and nobody else, with the rest of the Lakers standing around and watching Bryant do all the heavy lifting.

"You know, other than (Kobe), you look at the assists, we had 12 and (the Celtics) had 21," pointed out Lakers head coach Phil Jackson.

"It's basically home court, home court," Jackson said. "Now we're going back home to win it. That's the way it's supposed to be, right?”

Piercing blow

When asked before Game 5 of how Boston could get him more involved in the series, Paul Pierce said simply, "Just get me the ball. Like Keyshawn Johnson."

His words proved prophetic when Pierce scored 27 points, his best performance of this year's Finals.

Leading by as many as 13 points in the third quarter and looking poised for a blowout, the Celtics were paced by Pierce’s 13 points in the stanza.

Pierce was the MVP of the 2008 Finals when the Celtics beat the Lakers to raise an NBA-record 17th banner to the rafters at Boston's the Garden in Boston.

In Sunday’s contest, Boston shot 56.3 percent, its highest percentage in the playoffs.

"I know they were shooting a high percentage, but it gets that way when you shoot layups in this game," barked Jackson.

Mic me up

Jackson was wearing a microphone for Sunday’s Game 5 TV broadcast when he told his team during a late timeout, "This team loses more games in the fourth quarter than any team in the league. They know how to lose games, and they're showing us that now."

The Lakers got within six points several times, but never any closer.

Flirting with history

The Zen Master’s 47-0 record in a NBA playoff series after winning the first game of a series is on the line tonight.

NBA history is not on the Lakers' side as they try to become only the seventh team to win the Finals after returning home trailing 3-2.

L.A.’s history is a little more favorable, however; they rallied to beat Detroit by winning games six and seven in 1988.

In addition, of the 25 Finals that have been tied at two-apiece, the winner of Game 5 has won 19 of them.

The last time a team rallied to win Games 6 and 7 was Houston in 1994 against New York.

"We have a challenge, obviously, down, 3-2… but it is what it is," said Bryant, the Finals MVP last year when the Lakers beat Orlando.

"Now you go home. You've got two games at home that you need to win and you pull your boots up and get to work."

Boston Celtics at Los Angeles Lakers (-6.5, 188)

Phil Jackson is probably the most criticized coach in all of basketball.

While no one can deny his NBA title rings (which he’ll have to get converted into toe rings or some other type of ring, wink, wink - if the Lakers manage to come back), Jackson’s methods are getting a bit long in the tooth.

Jackson, who was wearing a microphone for Monday’s 92-86 loss in Game 5, blasted his competition in one of his timeout rants. He’s been known to throw verbal barbs at opponents and officials in hopes of rattling them out of their game.

"(The Celtics have) lost more games in the fourth quarter than anybody in the NBA," Jackson said in the huddle. "They know how to lose in the fourth quarter, alright? They're just showing us that right now."

Those comments trickled back to the Celtics following win. However, instead of jumping on those words like most of Jackson’s foes, the Celtics simply brushed off the comment in the postgame press conference.

"You know, he's right. What you just said, that's been the truth for us throughout the regular season,” Celtics star Paul Pierce told the media.

"I haven't really seen too much of that in the playoffs, but coaches say things to try to motivate their team. He's supposed to give them confidence. He's supposed to say something like that. I probably would say the same thing if I was a coach in that situation. It doesn't bother me at all."

Boston’s veteran squad will not be rattled by Jackson’s tiring physiological warfare or the near 19,000 screaming fans inside the Staples Center Tuesday night. Basketball bettors should expect another tight one in Game 6.

Tuesday’s Streaking And Slumping Starting Pitchers

Streaking

David Price, Tampa Bay Rays

Before Steven Strasburg there was David Price. The Rays lefty is just another young hurler delivering for the once laughingstock franchise. Tampa Bay is 6-1 in Price’s last seven trips to the hill and the Nashville native has eight quality starts in his last nine outings.

"He's got such good stuff," Rays catcher Dioner Navarro said after Price disposed of the hot-hitting Jays. "If he stays ahead of hitters, it's really difficult to get him."

Josh Johnson, Florida Marlins

If Josh Johnson read Covers.com, we feel confident we’d make the guy blush. That’s because we’ve got nothing but love for this Marlin ace. Johnson did the unthinkable in his last start.

He went on the road and beat the Phillies even with Roy Halladay dealing a gem. The 6-foot-7 righty pitched eight innings, allowed just four base runners and kept the Phils scoreless.

"Johnson is one of the better pitchers in our league," Philly manager Charlie Manuel told the Associated Press after the game. "We didn't hit many balls hard. Outside of Raul Ibanez (who singled in the second), I'm trying to think of another ball we hit hard. We couldn't get to him."

Florida is 8-1 in Johnson’s last nine starts and the under is 4-1-1 in his last six outings.

Brett Cecil, Toronto Blue Jays

This budding southpaw has been a golden nugget for astute bettors. Cecil, who’s still not a household name, is 7-2 with a 3.22 ERA and a WHIP (walks + hits per inning) under 1.00.

Better yet, the Jays are 6-0 in his last six trips to the bump and four of those games he was priced as an underdog. The under is also 5-0 in his last five appearances.

Slumping

Jeff Suppan, St. Louis Cardinals

The Cards are hoping their pitching guru Dave Duncan can resurrect Suppan’s career. The 6-3 righthander was a regular contributor for St. Louis from 2004-06 but he left Missouri for a richer contract in Milwaukee.

The Brewers recently gave up on him after four forgettable years of service. Before they cut ties, the Brew Crew had Suppan coming out of the bullpen. Let’s just say that didn’t go over so well.

He allowed eight runs in his last three outings, which totaled just four innings. Yikes.

Hot Lines: Tuesday’s Best MLB Bets

Milwaukee Brewers at Los Angeles Angels (-155)

It looked for awhile like the Halos had too many holes to match their usual dominance in the AL West. Their lineup was spotty, especially with power-hitting first baseman Kendry Morales out for the year, and starting rotation routinely let manager Mike Scioscia down.

But things are going much better for the Angels. The starters have an ERA under 4.00 since the first week of May and sleeping batters Hideki Matsui and Erick Aybar have come alive. L.A.’s other team is 13-3 in its last 16 games heading into Monday night’s game.

"We definitely knew what we had," start Scott Kazmir told ESPN Los Angeles. "We knew it was going to turn around for us sooner or later."

New York Mets at Cleveland Indians (+133)

Don’t like the leader in the NL East? Wait a week and it’ll be someone else. The latest club making a charge is New York. The Mets have four in a row and eight of their last nine contests.

Slumping slugger Jason Bay was the latest Met to shake off the rust. The left fielder went 4-for-4 with a double and a homer in Sunday’s 11-4 win over the Orioles.

"I feel like I changed a lot today, but I watched my at-bats on video and they looked identical to what I've been doing," Bay told the New York Post after the game. "But I'm not making wholesale changes. It's always one subtle thing that even I wouldn't notice."

Recapping The Weekend - Week 5

Seattle may have only played one game this weekend, but a win over the Sparks improved the Storm to a league-best 9-1

The weekend tipped off at 7:30 PM ET on Friday with two games on the East Coast. The Indiana Fever traveled to Mohegan Sun Arena in Connecticut with the hopes of extending its win streak to four games while also simultaneously delivering the Sun its first loss on their home court. As the Fever would discover first hand, the Sun are not be to reckoned with in front of the home crowd, as they went on to lose 86-77 on a night where Connecticut’s Renee Montgomery posted a career-high 29 points. Tina Charles recorded her seventh double-double of the season thanks in part to 12 points and 12 boards as the Sun improved to a conference-best 6-2.

Right around the same time that game was getting under way in Connecticut, the New York Liberty and Atlanta Dream tipped off at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Atlanta, winners of six straight to start the season, have since struggled a bit in an effort to hold down the number one spot in the east. Friday night, the struggles would continue, as the league’s worst free throw shooting team left 10 points at the line on 11-21 shooting. Compare that to New York, the league's best free throw shooting team, who shot 18-of-19 from the stripe, and you can see where the difference maker was in this 91-79 win for the Liberty.

In San Antonio, the Silver Stars hosted the Tulsa Shock in an effort to snap a four-game skid. This matchup was Becky Hammon’s first game back since missing the last two with a muscle strain, the impact of her presence was obvious. Hammon recorded 17 points in the Silver Stars’ 87-75 win. Chamique Holdsclaw led the team with 19 points and 11 rebounds for her first double-double of the season.

Washington hit the road for a matchup against the Chicago Sky Friday night. Lindsey Harding posted up a season-best 25 points in the 95-78 win. Monique Currie had 22 and Matee Ajavon 14 as the Mystics shot an impressive 61.7 percent from the field. Chicago’s Sylvia Fowles tallied 23 points as the Sky fell to 4-6 on the season.

Cappie Pondexter and the Liberty topped Atlanta Friday night but fell to the Mystics on Saturday

The last on a full plate of games Friday night was a Seattle Storm and Los Angeles Sparks rematch of the Sunset Showdown, only indoors this time around. The Storm went into this one with a league-best 8-1 record and ultimately widened their lead in the West with an 82-60 win over the Sparks. Lauren Jackson led all scorers with 17 points and added nine rebounds as well. Sue Bird (15), Camille Little (13) and Swin Cash (11) each finished with double digits in the win.

On Saturday the Liberty headed into Washington, D.C. with the hopes of stringing together the first three-game win streak of the season. In order to do that though, they’d have to beat the Mystics, a team similarly looking to extend its streak to three with a win on their home court. Before all was said and done, the Mystics walked away winners in a game where the Liberty committed a total of 24 turnovers. Compare that to Washington’s nine and it’s no wonder the Mystics managed 17 more field goal attempts on a night where the team collectively shot 33-for-66, further exemplifying the Mystics’ position as the best-shooting team in the league.

West Coast action Saturday night involved the Phoenix Mercury and Tulsa Shock in a game where six Phoenix players finished with double digits: Candice Dupree (18), Diana Taurasi (18), Taylor Lilley (14), Penny Taylor (14), Temeka Johnson (11) and Nicole Ohlde (11). It should come as no surprise then to hear that the Mercury broke the 100 point barrier for the second time this season with a total of 116, which also doubles as a WNBA record for most points scored by a team during regulation. The Mercury also holds the record for most points scored in a game with 120, set back in overtime on September 29, 2009 in Game One of the Finals against the Indiana Fever. Here are some highlights from that game:

Three games were on the agenda Sunday, with two kicking off at 3 PM ET. In Atlanta the Dream hosted the San Antonio Silver Stars, while out in Los Angeles the Sparks looked to defend their home court against the Minnesota Lynx.

Angel McCoughtry and Sancho Lyttle teamed up for a combined 47 points in an effort that led the Dream to a 90-83 win over the Silver Stars. Free throws were the name of the game for Atlanta once again, only this time around instead of missed attempts being an issue for the Dream (which was the case Friday against the Liberty), Atlanta shot 23-of-30 from the line. Sophia Young led the way for San Antonio with 24 points and five rebounds in the loss.

At the Staple Center in Los Angeles, Candace Parker and the Sparks were aiming for a much-needed victory in a battle against the Minnesota Lynx. Despite edging out the 88-84 win, the Sparks were met with a scare when Parker left the game with a shoulder injury and was later brought to a local hospital for further diagnosis. L.A. improved to 3-7 with the win, while Minnesota fell to 2-9. Parker suffered a dislocated shoulder and is currently listed as day-to-day.

The final game of the weekend tipped off at 6 PM ET between the Connecticut Sun and Indiana Fever, the second game of a home-and-home matchup. The Sun headed into Indiana with the hopes of taking both games but quickly met the well-renowned Indiana defense seeking retribution for the Friday loss at Mohegan Sun Arena. Just how good was Indiana’s defense Sunday night? Put it this way: Tina Charles was held to her lowest output of the season (and her young WNBA career) with two points on one-of-eight shooting and Connecticut collectively shot just 22-of-61 from the field. The win split the series and put the Fever at 6-4 on the season.

Expect Great in 2010.

Lady Luck: Tuesday's Best WNBA Bet

Atlanta Dream at Chicago Sky (-2.5, 164)

It must feel like the sky is falling for Chicago. In their last two outings, the Sky have watched their opponents drain countless buckets, burying the team in a two-game losing skid.

Chicago’s defense couldn’t do anything to stop the Washington Mystics Friday, allowing Washington to shoot nearly 62 percent from the field for a 95-78 beating. The game before that, the Sky could only hold the New York Liberty to 53 percent shooting from the floor, falling 85-70.

"They just got a lot of easy shots," Chicago guard Dominique Canty told the Chicago Daily Herald following Friday’s defeat. "We got away from our defensive game plan."

Throwing salt on the wound was an injury to starting center Shameka Christon Friday. She played just three minutes before taking an elbow to the face. She left the game and was taken to hospital for observation. Christon is averaging 8.5 point and two blocks per game this season. Her status for Tuesday is unknown.

"She's a big loss," guard Jia Perkins said of Christon. "She's a big part of our team offensively and defensively."
